Join Arts For Life on Wednesday, June 14 at 6:30PM, for a special free community art and music show, Heartbeats, at the Mothlight in West Asheville. Heartbeats is Arts For Life’s annual community art show, showcasing the creative efforts of WNC’s pediatric patients and family members. Arts For Life is an Asheville-based statewide nonprofit that brings educational art and music experiences to patients and their families while in treatment at Mission Children’s Hospital.
In addition to featuring artwork created by young patients and family members, attendees of Heartbeats will have the chance to participate in a variety of hands-on, interactive art projects and enjoy a special live performance of Arts For Life’s Heartbeat Sessions. The Heartbeat Sessions – spearheaded by local musician and Arts For Life music teacher Melissa Hyman – are a growing collection of musical recordings, highlighting the collaboration between young patients and music professionals in the Asheville community. The Heartbeat Sessions are made possible with the support of Echo Mountain Recording Studio, History Boutique Films, and many generaous local donors.
Join us to celebrate our community’s Heartbeats!
